Ella and Tom are preparing a class project about blue whales. They must make a poster and present it on Friday. Ella enjoys drawing, while Tom prefers facts. They agree to use their different skills.

They meet in the school library on Monday. Tom finds information about how large blue whales are and what they eat. Ella draws a whale beside a small boat to help the class understand its size.

On Tuesday, Tom becomes ill and misses school. Ella worries because their project is only half finished. She messages him to ask if he needs help. Tom replies that he can write the short from home.

On Thursday afternoon, they finally work together again. Some of Tom's text is too long for the poster, so they choose the most interesting facts and check the spelling. Ella adds to connect the pictures with the information.

When they present their work on Friday, a classmate asks a question about whale food. Tom answers it using his notes. Their teacher both the research and the drawings. Ella and Tom are pleased that they finished the change of plans.
