Marco prepared for his online job interview all morning. He checked his notes, closed the noisy apps, and joined the video call five minutes early.
The interviewer greeted him, but when Marco answered, she could not hear anything. For a second, Marco froze. Then he typed a message in the chat: “I’m sorry. My microphone isn’t working. I need one minute.”
He checked the cable first, but it was connected. Then he opened the audio settings and saw that the wrong microphone was selected. He changed it and asked, “Can you hear me now?”
The interviewer smiled and said yes. Instead of apologizing again and again, Marco thanked her for waiting and began the interview.
Later, when she asked about difficult situations at work, Marco used the microphone problem as a small example. He explained that he tried to communicate clearly before fixing the issue.
