Iris was finishing her English homework when the laptop screen suddenly went black. She had written two pages and added a picture, but she could not remember if she had saved the document.
At first, she pressed the power button again and again. Nothing changed. Then she noticed that the charger was not connected properly. She plugged it in and waited.
After a minute, the laptop started again. Iris opened the writing app with her hands still shaking a little. A message appeared: “Recovered document available.”
The automatic copy had saved almost everything. Only the last sentence was missing. Iris rewrote it, saved the file with a clear name, and emailed a copy to herself.
The laptop problem took ten minutes, but it changed her routine. After that day, Iris saved her work before adding pictures, before taking breaks, and before closing the screen.
